The annual Snapper & Crab Derby, sponsored by the Captree Fuel, Bait and Tackle, will take place at the Captree State Park fishing piers on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13 from 10AM to 1PM, with an awards ceremony at 1:30pm, each day.

This is a FREE event which encourages children 16 years old and younger to discover and enjoy fishing and crabbing!

Signups will take place at the Captree Bait and Tackle Shop, which is also where you can rent or buy rods and bait; there will be sales all weekend long! Or if you wish, you can bring your own supplies.

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st through 3rd heaviest snapper and to the top 3 heaviest crabs overall. Must be present at the awards ceremony to win!

The standard $8 vehicle use fee will be in effect.
