Weekend Workshop with Kofi Busia

Kofi Busia is one of BKS Iyengar’s earliest students and has been practicing and teaching in honor of his guru for over thirty years. His teaching reflects a deep knowledge of the body and of yoga philosophy, and he is well known for his creative adjustments and also his stories, which both entertain and enlighten, and which bring yoga into the real world. We practice yoga to address anxiety, tension, physical pain, and health issues. But more and more in this modern world, emotional disturbances and spiritual obstacles disturb our peace of mind. They prevent us from living life to the full.

Asana, pranayama and the study of yoga and its philosophy teach us how to transform our physical, mental and emotional patterns. By deliberately focusing on those parts of the body, such as big toes, little toes, or collar bones that normally function unconsciously, we can stabilize bones and strengthen muscles and ligaments, creating a strong, steady body which will provide a sound foundation. In the face of conflict and challenge we can then connect with that deepest wisdom, release our greatest fears, and move beyond our limitations to act with courage, grace and compassion.

Price: $140 for the weekend or $75 either day.
