Each of the artists in this exhibit have a unique relationship with, and perspective of, the Huntington Arts Council. Several have shared their thoughts about the Council and why they choose to support this event.

Chris Ann Ambery-
“I am happy to support The Huntington Arts Council because it is instrumental in supporting art and artists throughout Huntington and the entire Long Island community. HAC has a special place in my heart not only was it the first gallery I exhibited in, it was where I sold my first piece of art.”

Grainne de Buitlear-
“As an artist, I am very proud to be a part of the Huntington Arts Council. Through their broad outreach they are enhancing the lives of so many through art, dance and music. As a visual artist new to the area, the staff has been informative and supportive of both my work and career, and I cannot thank them enough for their encouragement.”

William Low-
“Huntington is a special place – a town of urban sophistication with vignettes of small town USA and colonial America. As a city boy, I’ve always appreciated the buses, commerce, municipal parking lots, cafes and trendy shops as well as the trees, shoreline and family atmosphere. As an artist, I’ve always felt welcome in Huntington and the Huntington Arts Council has provided Long Island artists of all forms & disciplines with support for over 53 years.”

Lucienne Pereira`-
“It is a great pleasure to contribute to the Huntington Art Council auction by donating these two paintings. HAC has been instrumental in keeping art alive in Long Island! It has offered opportunity to mature artists to promote their work and to young artists to emerge and shine. Most of the community mural projects I have realized in the Town of Huntington were made possible by grants administered by the HAC. Also, HAC is the kind of a place one can stop by and discuss ideas and possibilities and feel energized and supported.”

“We are very excited about On the Block, our art auction fundraiser. The participating artists have been hand selected and the work they have donated is an amazing representation of their talent and generosity. This exhibit makes a big statement about our relationship with the arts and cultural communities we serve. As Executive Director, along with our Board of Directors and staff, I sincerely thank all of those artists and organizations who have donated to this event. Our doors are open to everyone and I invite you to stop in to help support the Arts Council with your presence or with a bid on a piece. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you over the next couple of weeks!” said Executive Director, Marc Courtade.
