Afternoon TEA – Tribute to Linda Ronstadt

November 15, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Enjoy an afternoon with Kellie Nicole (vocals) and Jon Price (guitar) when they pay tribute to the amazing “First Lady of Rock,” Linda Ronstadt. Includes song favorites from her early albums of the 1960’s and 1970’s era.

Linda Ronstadt established her career in the mid-1960s at the forefront of California’s emerging folk rock and country rock movements. Ronstadt became the lead singer of a folk-rock trio, the Stone Poneys, and shortly after a solo artist with the release of Hand Sown…Home Grown in 1969, which has been described as the first alternative country record by a female recording artist. With the release of chart-topping albums in the 70’s such as Heart Like a Wheel (1974) and Simple Dreams (1977), Ronstadt became the first female “arena class” rock star. She set records as one of the top-grossing concert artists of the decade. Referred to as “First Lady of Rock,” her rock-and-roll image was equally as famous as her music. She won 11 Grammies, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy, an ALMA, and numerous U.S. and internationally certified gold, platinum and multiplatinum albums. In 2014, Linda Ronstadt was inducted into the Rock & Roll hall of fame.

Door open at 1:30. No tickets required.
